‘Based on the Characteristic Sound of the Leslie 147’

The Motion Sound PRO-3Tm Rotary Horn Unit is an improved version of the very successful PRO-3 and is a perfect choice for bands or other players with limited space. Both the PRO-3 and the PRO-3Tm were designed to deliver the classic Leslie Model 147 sound without having to carry a full size Leslie. The PRO-3Tm is a powered ‘horn-only’ unit which is compact and ruggedly built. It features a true motorized revolving ‘horn’ for high frequencies, and a crossover and rotor simulator for bass frequencies below 800 Hz. These lower frequencies are directed to a special connector for use with the Motion Sound LOW-PRO lower rotor system and to 1/4′ stereo output jacks for use with a separate bass amp and speakers or Public Address (PA) system. The PRO-3Tm is designed to be used where space is very limited, but the classic rotary horn sound is desirable.

No electronic simulator or other device can capture the true rotary horn sound of the 147, 122 or other classic models. Only a true Leslie or the Motion Sound PRO-3Tm or R3-147 can accomplish what professional musicians demand most – ‘The Real Deal’ in classic sound.

Enhanced with a Real 12AX7 Vacuum Tube Preamp for Warmth!

The PRO-3Tm has a 12AX7 vacuum tube in the preamp for true ‘tube warmth’ and dial in front panel pre and post gain controls to allow the user accurate distortion control from slight distortion to a 70’s tube crunch completely overdriven sound. A built-in Contour (tone) Control allows the user to alter the PRO-3Tm sound from a bright solid-state amp sound to the mellower 147 sound.

Technical Information

The PRO-3Tm is equipped with a 40-watt RMS power amplifier for the rotating horn, and an 18 dB / octave crossover that is designed to cross over at 800 Hz , with frequencies 800 Hz and above directed to the rotating horn, and frequencies below 800 Hz directed to the rotor simulator and out to the 1/4′ outputs. The PRO-3Tm was designed to be easily docked with a Motion Sound LOW-PRO Model LP-120 lower rotor system which features an actual mechanical rotating drum and a 120 watt amplifier and 150 watt 12′ speaker or it can be used with another very-good quality bass amp and speakers. If a separate amp and speakers are used, the bass WILL have the rotary effect of a Leslie bass-rotor due to the rotor simulator in the PRO-3Tm.

A 1/4′ foot switch is supplied with the PRO-3Tm to control motor speed switching which controls both the upper horn unit speed-change and the bass rotor simulator speed-change simultaneously. An enhanced lower rotor simulator with a front panel AM modulation control allows the user to tweak the bass rotor sound to suit the situation and equipment. The PRO-3Tm includes a special output connector to allow easy docking with the Low-Pro rotating drum system.
