If you are looking for the most accurate reproduction of the classic B-3, then this is not the right instrument for you. The new B-3 will be a better match for you, and will only cost a little more. However if you are more concerned with having a versatile instrument, this organ will let you mix in midi voices with your manuals (and with pedals) up to 3 voices per manual. We like to package this organ with an 814 speaker cabinet, which is a full voice leslie, with extra stationary channels for the midi instruments. This instrument is also much lighter than the new B-3, a consideration for anyone who has to move frequently.

New Sampling Technology :
Now, the new DRH� sampling technology captures the sound and feel of the incomparable B-3. The idea of ‘sampling a B3’ has been around for a long time. But just sampling and adding Drawbars was not enough. Hammond has also recreated those idiosyncrasies of the electro-mechanical tone wheel generator which have eluded all previous digital sound-producing systems.
The XB-3M flawlessly generates the pure harmonic sound of the B-3. And then goes on to add such things as the Drawbar foldbacks at the top and bottom octaves, the variances in key click, and the effect of overdriving a tube amplifier. Even the look and feel of the keyboards is faithfully reproduced. The total effect is the look, sound, and feel of the B-3. And it weighs less than 200 pounds (72 Kg) instead of over 400.
There’s more. Hammond has incorporated features that were never dreamed of in the original B-3.
Extra Voice :
The XB-3M contains an complete General MIDI-compatible voice library consisting of over 270 high-quality digitally sampled sounds such as Stereo Grand Piano, Stereo Strings and even a new breathy Stereo Saxophone. Ten drum kits are also provided to further enhance your playing. And, you can use the Drawbars to adjust the volume of the Extra Voices during performance.
Presets :
An octave of reverse-color Preset Keys is available for each manual, as well as two Pedal presets. These can be easily programmed with your own settings.
Transposer :
Whether you play in one key or all of them, you’ll find it easy to change from one key to another with just a touch of a button.
Disk Drive :
Using this feature, you can record and store your own Preset Banks or complete performances as well as play back Standard MIDI File data.
